Mass Grave Found in Mexico

A mass grave was found yesterday on an abandoned ranch called Diamante, outside the town of Tres Valles, Veracruz.

At least 28 bodies have been found, and authorities are still digging the grave in search for more. Some of the corpses had been buried for over a month ago.

The Gulf Coast state has suffered of years of fighting between drug cartels, led by the Zetas who control the area.

It's suspected that many of the bodies belong to Central American migrants crossing the boarder, given that the state of Veracruz is a common crossing point.

Nevertheless, several local families came to surround the site – now under military surveillance – looking for their loved ones. Authorities are still working on the grave and haven't identified the bodies.
