This Brazilian is likely ruled out of playing in PSG's upcoming crucial second-leg UEFA Champions League fixture against Real Madrid.

Brazil international and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) hitman, Neymar, suffered “a sprain of the right ankle and fissure of the fifth metatarsal,” the club said.

The ex-Barcelona winger has carted off the pitch during PSG's 3-0 victory over Marseille at the Parc des Princes after being downed in a tussle over a loose ball.

PSG disclosed that scans also revealed that the prolific scorer had suffered a “sprain of the right ankle.” The Parisian outfit did not say how long the winger was expected to be sidelined.

But, tests indicate that the 26-year-old could be out of action for at least three weeks, according to a Sky report. Neymar’s compatriot, Gabriel Jesus, missed 10 weeks last season with a similar fracture.

This translates to the Brazilian likely being ruled out of playing in PSG's upcoming crucial second-leg of the UEFA Champions League fixture against Real Madrid.

Madrid currently holds a comfortable 3-1 lead.

The Spanish team's coach, Zinedine Zidane, comment on Neymar's injury, saying: “I don’t like it when a player hurts himself, I am not happy about the injury. We never rejoice when a rival is absent due to injury.”

Neymar, who left Barcelona for a whopping US$280 million transfer fee, has scored 29 goals in 30 games.

PSG are currently 14 points clear of second-placed Monaco.
