The newly minted English Premier League (EPL)-winning coach, who has designs on a UEFA Champions League title, is looking to strengthen three key team positions – a center-back, defensive midfielder and all-rounder forward.

The two-time Champions League, three-time La Liga, three-time Bundesliga and first-time Premier League-winning manager Pep Guardiola – who claimed the EPL trophy with five games to spare – has set the bar for himself very high. City is teetering on becoming the first EPL team to amass 100 points in a season.

The Catalan coach has won 23 trophies in 10 years.

According to a Mirror report, the top manager is rumored to have an eye on Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred, Napoli’s Jorginho, Nice’s Jean-Michel Seri and Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl as options to fill the void that will be left when veteran Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure exits the team.

The ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich chief has already spent some US$643 million, in the past two seasons, on his Manchester outfit.

Many City player contracts are heavily incentivized. As a result, the team will share a US$14 million bonus for their league triumph, with specific players set to pocket as much as US$1.4 million for their contribution throughout the season.
