Over 10,000 striking workers, young people, and pensioners marched to the parliament in Athens, Greece on Wednesday, most of them waving flags of the Communist-affiliated group PAME. The demonstration marked a 24-hour general strike against planned austerity measures in Greece, grounding flights, docking ships and disrupting public transport. The one-day nationwide strike was organized by Greece’s largest labor unions, the private sector GSEE and its public sector counterpart ADEDY. Full Story
